August has been quite the month! So many things on the go with client projects and exciting news. I recently worked on a 3 day makeover for the Marilyn Denis Show on her son's amazing loft space. They came to Calgary in July to film and the segment aired last week as part of their premiere week! It was even more exciting to find out that they wanted me in studio to discuss the makeover.

The makeover was on a loft space with some fabulous character but needed some love. We gave the space a raw, industrial edge with bold hits of colour through out to keep it young and fresh. This space was also a rental so we really had to play up the furniture and accessories as we could not make many permanent changes. 

A BIG thank you to all of my suppliers that helped to make this amazing space come to life. #Gratitude!

Here are some things you want to keep in mind when decorating:

1. Let the bones of the space speak for themselves- 

If you live in a gorgeous loft space with exposed brick and posts you want to definitely play up those features.  

2. Create a floor plan-

It is so easy to make a quick a floor plan so that when you are shopping you know what you need. A common mistake is people buying furniture that is too big or small of their space. This will really help you decide what will fit and what won't. 

3. Mix and old and new-

I love mixing vintage and modern pieces. It gives a space character and makes it feel like a home and not a show home.
